Zero George hosts inaugural Charleston fall oyster roast
Zero George’s Inaugural Oyster Roast was the perfect way to celebrate the fall season with local fare, bushels of oyster, bespoke cocktails, and fine friends. Of the many historic Charleston food traditions, an Oyster Roast is one of the most iconic. Is there anything better than friends and food on a crisp fall evening?
Chef Randy Williams shared even more of Charleston’s favorite “receipts” with a spread of pimento cheese, black eyed pea hummus, and Frogmore Stew. Don’t worry, there are not any frogs in Frogmore stew! It has been said that this one pot dish is the epitome of Southern simplicity. Chef Randy’s stew featured shrimp and housemade sausage. If you’re looking for a bit of Southern Hospitality at home, we hope you’ll try Chef’s Frogmore stew recipe replete with a table covered with newspaper upon which to serve and great friends!
